WELCOME

to our parish!

We warmly welcome you to Holy Family Parish in Hillsborough! We are so glad you are visiting our parish community. Whether you are new to the area, visiting family and friends, or just looking for a new church home, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable here.

We invite you to further explore this section and our website and would love to meet you after Mass. Please introduce yourself to Father Ryan or Deacon Bert.

What to expect on your first visit with us

  • What to Expect at Mass

Sunday Mass includes prayers, hymns, readings from the Bible, a homily (also sometimes called a “sermon”), and the celebration of the Eucharist. If this is your first visit to a Catholic church, don't be nervous ... just enjoy the time of prayer! Handouts with the Mass responses in English and Spanish are available at the front door.

Feel free to dress comfortably but with respect for God's house -- we ask that shoulders and midriffs are covered, and gentlemen please remove their hats when they enter the church.

  • Families with Children

Holy Family is blessed with LOTS of children -- families are very welcome to worship and grow with us! The last row of pews in the church is reserved for families with small children, and the Atrium (gathering area) of the church is a more informal seating area where small children can move around and their families can still participate in Mass through the video and audio feed.

Our older children are invited to participate in music ministry at our Youth Mass on the first Sunday of the month -- contact Teresa Rodridguez, Director of Music, for more information.

  • Mass Times

Weekend Masses begin with Saturday night's Vigil Mass at 5pm. Sunday Masses are at 8am (bilingual), 9:30am in English, and 11:30am in Spanish. We also celebrate Mass most weekdays. Confessions are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15pm. For any changes or holiday schedules, check our weekly bulletin.

  • Parking and Facilities

    • Parking is available around the Church campus. Several parking spots on the lower level make the ground floor handicapped accessible.
    • Restrooms are located in the Atrium's hallway beyond the seating area. Additional restrooms and a water fountain are also available downstairs.
    • Our Parish Hall and classrooms are located downstairs in the Church building. Stairs are available both inside and outside the church, and can also be accessed via the lower parking lot for those unable to maneuver stairs.
    • The Parish Office is located in the one-story building behind the main Church building via walkways surrounding the building.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask an usher or introduce yourself to our Pastor or Deacon after Mass. We can't wait to meet you!

What We Believe

We believe that church isn't just about our building. It's about people's relationship with God and each other.

"Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything. The Credo begins with God the Father, for the Father is the first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity; our Creed begins with the creation of heaven and earth, for creation is the beginning and the foundation of all God's works."

--- the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 198

Catholic belief is succinctly expressed in the profession of faith called the Nicene Creed:

  • About God

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

  • About Jesus

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

  • About the Holy Spirit

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

  • About the Church

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

i'd like to become catholic...

God constantly calls us into a deeper relationship with Himself. In the Catholic Church, we enter into this process of discovery and discernment through a guided journey called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Whether you were baptized as a child and still need to complete the other Sacraments of the Church, or were raised in another Christian denomination, or are just now discovering faith in Christ, we invite you to join our RCIA program at Holy Family.

ARE YOU BEING CALLED?

i'm returning to the church...

Have you found yourself reconsidering what faith means lately? Whether you're asking big questions, wanting to return to Mass, or feeling disconnected and looking to come back home, our parish is here for you. God’s love is unrelenting and unending, so take comfort that you cannot lose your place in his embrace. Meet Him again within these walls built to offer refuge and renewal. Come home again - you will find nurturing guidance wherever your journey is leading you.
